[Savage40] direct rendering: no

hi folks,
it's the first time i write in this mailing list. i have a video card 
"s3 savage 4" agp with 32mb of ram and i use mandriva linux 2006.0

i use the kernel 2.6.12-12mdk (the default kernel, not recompiled) and i 
have installed xorg 6.9-1 & mesa 5.0.2-11.

when i type "glxinfo" into the shell it tell me that i'm not using 
direct rendering. it's about a month that i'm looking around over the 
net,  but i didn't managed to make work the direct rendering....

anyone can help me??

ps. what's savage_dri.so??
i got this file in /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri
