Hello!
I'm using HP Omiboox XE3 with this card:
0000:01:01.0 VGA compatible controller: S3 Inc. 86C270-294 Savage/IX-MV (rev 13)
and I'd like to get DRI working - I've found this email
http://probo.probo.com/pipermail/savage40/2004-March/000056.html
reporting success with similar card. I have compiled a new 2.6.14 kernel
with savage module enabled and then set up to load while booting. dmesg
reports this:
[drm] Initialized drm 1.0.0 20040925
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:01:01.0[A] -> Link [LNKA] -> GSI 11 (level,
low) -> IRQ 11
mtrr: 0xf0000000,0x1000000 overlaps existing 0xf0000000,0x800000
mtrr: 0xf0000000,0x1000000 overlaps existing 0xf0000000,0x800000
mtrr: base(0xf2000000) is not aligned on a size(0x5000000) boundary
[drm] Initialized savage 2.4.1 20050313 on minor 0:
and /dev/dri/card0 is automatically created:
# ll /dev/dri/card0
crw-rw---- 1 root video 226, 0 Dec 17 15:16 /dev/dri/card0
but X isn't conscious of it - not even a line about DRI in it's log.
I'm using stock
X.org 6.8.2 on Ubuntu Breezy.
I'm also confused by driver versions - is in X.org that accelerating one or
I have to download & compile another one?
Thanks a lot for any help.
