[Savage40] Best way of using Savage driver with Debian Sarge

I've been using them and the ones there work fine. Unfortunately the
maintainer hasn't had time to update them so I've been trying to put the
latest cvs in. I need PCI savage (but it didn't compile last night). I
did get one to compile with PCI savage (the initial checkin) but X was
VERY slow to draw. GLXgears worked faster though. I haven't tried since.
