[Savage40] xv and mode switch

Hi everyone,
First of all I'd like to thank the programmers for this fine piece of 
software.

I've got a problem with xv video playback when not using 1024x768. My 
laptop has an LCD of this size, but for playing back videos, 800x600 
would be sufficient and I think this will lighten the processor load as 
well as giving better TV-out picture.

However, when I let mplayer switch video mode for me or when I do it 
myself and start mplayer after this, I get some blue planes overlapping 
the video on screen.

I hope anyone can help solve this problem or maybe explain that there is 
no point in a lower video playback resolution.
