Interesting; none of the S3 BIOSes for which I have source code include 
support for SECAM at all.  I had never noticed that.

There are quite a number of French folk on the mailing list, but 
apparently none of them are using a TV.

I do not know what to tell you.  It's possible to view PAL on an NTSC 
television (without color), and often vice versa, but I do not know how 
interoperable SECAM is with the other standards.
