Hi everybody,
nore than half a year after the release of "Xorg 7" featuring 3D support for
the "Savage" chip family for the very first time, there are still some
issues with regarding stability and basic functionality of the "savage"
driver. I had posted two bug reports myself at the "Red Hat" bugzilla:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=195851
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=195854
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=196011
which have essentially been closed by "Red Hat" after disabling direct
rendering for the "savage" driver in "Fedora Core". Morever, there are
several reports at the "freedesktop" bugzilla including:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6357
As the notebooks of the "IBM ThinkPad T2X" series are equipped with chips of
the "SuperSavage/IX" family, there are certainly many users out there who
are extremely interested in a increased stability of the "savage" driver and
kernel modules. Any clues or suggestions?
There has virtually been 0 traffic on this list during the last 2 months.
Has everybody got a new notebook? ;)
