As Tim said, no luck with "Debian 3.1 Sarge". You may want to consider
migrating to "Ubuntu Linux 6.0.6.1" which is based on "Debian" and whose
"Xorg" 7.0 supports 3D acceleration for the "savage" driver out of the box!
