Hello Alex,

I am experiencing this too, see:

I beside that flickering in glxgears I get really slow 2D performance and 
it seems to me as if the driver is running without 2d acceleration as 
well.

I also experience that X.org hangs on logout. See

The bug about the black screen while running 3D application which is fixed 
with that newer Savage 2D X driver is recorded here
