[Savage40] Thinkpad T23 and external monitor 1680x1050

Now I have to report a negative point. Watching DVD movies at 1680x1050
resolution does not work well. T tried with both xine and mplayer. The
image flickers extremely when I start playing the movie. It works only if
I force mplayer to use x11 instead of xv as video output. It seems that
the xv extension is not well supported at that resolution. Instead, if I
switch to 1400x1050 everthing looks fine on the external monitor.

Probably, I will go for the philips 200W6CB which allows to set the
display to native mode even when the input resolution is lower than
1680x1050.

Thank you for all the input.
