Try to set in /etc/X11/xorg.conf:
Section "Extensions"
        Option          "Composite"     "Disable"
EndSection

Section "ServerFlags"
        Option         "AIGLX"         "False"
EndSection

This will disable 3D-helpers for UI and buggy for some chipsets Composite 
extension. I still not updated Xorg on my T23 ;-) But last time 3D/XVideo 
works fine, except many times noted here XVideo screen flickering.
