You know, whatever you think about William Shatner's acting ability, this guy deserves a lot of respect. He has suffered the slings and arrows of critics and satirists, managed to overcome the burden of being typecast as James T Kirk, one of the most familiar and recognizable figures in pop culture, stuck with it, and kept on practicing his chosen craft. On Sunday night, he received recognition from his peers through his second Emmy award. That represents a strength and persistence that few of us possess.
