Email notifications

Notifications now go out by email too. Each organization and each person picks, per notification type, between no email, one email, follow-up reminders, or a weekly digest.

Notifications used to live only in the inbox. Now they reach people by email too.

Every notification still lands in the in-app inbox. Email is sent for the items that are still pending, so a task someone already handled won’t follow them to their mailbox.

For each notification type, you pick how much email it sends: none, a single email, up to four follow-up reminders until the item is handled, or a weekly digest. The organization sets the default and each person can override it from the employee portal.

Task assignments and mentions now send an email that links straight to the task in the employee portal. If someone hasn’t saved a preference, they get an email for every mention and reminders for tasks assigned to them.

Signature and approval requests use the same schedule now, instead of their own reminder logic.
